With the development of the economy and the improvement of people's living standards, more and more people in China choose to swim across the river, boat competition, backwater swimming and other water sports. However, water sports in addition to bring people a healthy body, happy mood, but also accompanied by the risk of drowning. Coupled with the frequent occurrence of floods and other natural disasters in recent years, the safety of water sports and the need for emergency water rescue has also received increasing attention.

In July and August of this year, the Yangtze River basin floods rampant, touching the hearts of people across the country, the end of July a textbook 27 seconds of water paddle rescue video fire throughout the network.

On September 6 this year, Yichang Outdoor Volunteer Rescue Association and Yidu Clearwater Bay Kayak SUP Paddle Training Base joined forces to take the lead in forming the Yichang Outdoor Volunteer Water Rescue Team to undertake water safety rescue and water event protection escort tasks in the image of public welfare.

The first 30 volunteers of the water rescue team are all members of Yichang Outdoor Volunteer Rescue Association and Yichang Mountaineering and Outdoor Sports Association who have rich outdoor experience. The main content of the training is: 200 meters unassisted uninterrupted swimming, kayaking skills, paddle skills, especially paddle rescue and other water rescue skills. The rescue team was established to rescue the main scope of wind 3 waves 0.6 meters high below the natural disaster water rescue, as well as rivers, lakes, reservoirs and other water sports events within 500 people rescue.

The training for the first training, the future will continue to carry out water rescue skills training from time to time, the water rescue team will also continue to recruit members to expand the strength of the rescue team.
